It’s that time again – ELECTION TIME! Yes, I know it seems like we just had an election – and we did, the federal election in May, however it is now provincial election time. The province is the level of government that is most responsible for healthcare. From what I’ve seen and heard so far, healthcare doesn’t seem to be foremost on any of the political leaders’ or candidates’ agenda.

Thank you to the London community for supporting our 3rd annual Heads Up Walkathon! On a cool, rainy Saturday June 25th we were excited to see all of our ‘walkers’ show up, along with a record 42 volunteers - who kept everything running smoothly, ensuring that everyone could enjoy their snacks, learn about brain injuries at the awareness stations, and not get lost en route!!

June is Brain Injury Awareness month in Ontario. Dale Brain Injury Services has a couple of events planned to help raise awareness (and funds) in the community.
Distance for Dale (D4D) was held on Sunday June 5th, a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride along the lake, followed by a fabulous lunch.

Traditionally in April organizations across Ontario honour the commitment and work of the volunteers affiliated with their programs and services. This year’s theme is Passion, Action, Impact. In non-profit organizations Volunteers perform a vital role in ensuring the success of organizations as they are its foundation. It is generally the passion and actions of the original founding Volunteers that created the organization.
