Staff Training

Dale Brain Injury Services provides comprehensive, customized education/training regarding ABI issues. Expert and experienced instructors help increase the understanding, knowledge and skills of people supporting individuals with an ABI. Training can be provided on-site at Dale Brain Injury Services Office in London, Ontario or anywhere in Southwestern Ontario.

The objectives of training include:

  • increased community awareness and knowledge about the issues surrounding the effects of ABI on an individual and their family
  • increased ability of caregivers to provide support to persons with an ABI
  • increased community linkages

Dale Brain Injury Services also offers a comprehensive course in Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation. Other training courses can be developed for interested agencies, to train and assist frontline staff and their supervisors to effectively support people living with the effects of ABI.

Fees may be applicable, depending upon the nature and duration of the training program required. Please contact the office for further information.

Dale Brain Injury Services provides professional consultation in the field of community based support for adults with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) throughout Southwestern Ontario.We provide expertise in collaboration with local service providers to develop unique solutions for the individual based on accepted principles and best practices.

The objective of the Consultation Service is to work with each service provider to produce a customized solution that will:

Consultation and Training Programs

Service Providers can take advantage of any or all members of DBIS’s interdisciplinary consultation team. This team is made up of the Clinical Psychologist, the Clinical Services Manager, a Behaviour Therapist, a Social Worker, and a Rehabilitation Counsellor. In addition the DBIS team members may consult with other health practitioners in the community including professionals from the disciplines of Family Medicine, Neuropsychology, Neuropsychiatry, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Pathology.
